Allomi presents a holistic health summit Sept. 22, 23

Founder and owner Amber Susa Jewett started a unique holistic health sanctuary when she opened Allomi in Redondo Beach in January. With this studio, located in Riviera Village, Jewett was determined to “integrate movement, meditation and mindfulness.”

Jewett says “Holistic health is an ancient approach to life that considers the whole person and emphasizes the connection of body, mind, and spirit. Our schedule includes yoga, meditation, cardio dance, rebounding, and fitness classes. We also offer nutritional counseling, life coaching, holistic health and creative living workshops, massage therapy, physical therapy, acupuncture and Reiki.”

Her goal? Helping clients live the best possible life.

“We want to ignite healing and increase overall health and well-being,” she explains.

Jewett is no stranger to fitness and health. Seven years ago, she co-founded HIP Studio in Hermosa Beach, a boutique space that offered high-intensity Pilates and fitness workouts.

“After becoming a mother to two beautiful children, severe low back pain led me to a meditation practice and spiritual journey that called me to open Allomi,” she said.

She wants to shift the way the South Bay community views health and fitness by supporting what she calls the “whole individual” through a variety of classes and services. From kid’s yoga to power yoga, mat Pilates, and a women’s meditation and healing circle, there’s something for everyone to experience in terms of movement.

Jewett feels that the general health-consciousness in the South Bay has made people “more open to holistic health and healing. There’s a deep desire to connect and heal.”

Jewett has spent most of her life being physically active as a gymnast, dancer and athlete. “Movement was what I relied on to stay healthy and balanced,” she says. But her back pain led her to a meditation practice that allowed her body to heal.

“It woke me up to the miracle of mind-body medicine,” she stresses. “Evidence has shown that most disease is stress related, and that meditation has a direct correlation to stress reduction.”

She believes it’s vitally important to achieve full health by nurturing and integrating the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical components of life.

“The name Allomi was born out of my desire to be ‘All-Of-Me,’ to integrate, appreciate, embrace, and heal all parts of me,” according to Jewett.

To that end, Allomi is presenting “All of You, a Holistic Health and Conscious Living Summit” Sept 22 and 23 at The Catalina Room in Redondo Beach. A two-day pass costs $150. A one-day pass is $95. Lunch and snacks are provided.

The event includes a screening on Saturday of the documentary HEAL featuring Patti Penn, Deepak Chopra, Bruce Lipton, Marianne Williamson and others. It's followed by a Q&A with Reiki Master Penn.

The weekend also includes speakers, meditation and movement and yoga as well as a vendor area.

“The goal of the summit is to ignite healing in every area of your life," said Jewett. "It will increase your awareness about holistic health and it will empower you with the knowledge that you have everything you need to be your best self.” She adds “No matter where you are on your journey, we are here to support you.”

Allomi is located at 1612 S. Catalina in Redondo Beach.

The Allomi Summit takes place Sept. 22-23 at The Catalina Room, located at 128 S. Catalina Ave. in Redondo Beach.
